I'm at work paying off my horse bills but my dinner hour is 6 to 7 pm. I'll stuff some inedible hospital food down and wait by the phone. The nurses will page me. Otherwise, you can try again, same time, same station, on Saturday when I again work 2 to 12 pm. If all else fails, leave me a number where I can call you on Sunday. Between work and the horses, I am almost impossible to reach and would be happy to call you.

I leave for the games after doing an overnight shift in the ER Sunday 11pm to 7 am. Ah well, I guess I'll sleep well on the plane.

Alas, I do not own a laptop and probably couldn't use it if I did. I only mastered email 2 months ago (technologically challenged). USET is putting us up in Winnebagos on the competition site. It's doubtful they have televisions and would be a miracle if they had computers. However I will do my best to find a FAX machine -- I can use them now finally -- and try to stay in touch that way at the Games.

Jazz is healthy and happy and training well. He came back from Gladstone with a tremendous fungus infection on his butt and has lost a lot of hair. He's still beautiful when you look at him from the front and if the weather in Winnipeg is anything like it was in Gladstone, he'll have so much sweat between his hind legs no one will notice his de-furred butt.

I hope he gets to Canada safely. Some horses just came back to Del Mar from Spruce Meadows, Alberta and they weren't in such great shape. I would have preferred to fly Jazz but couldn't find a flight. 2500 miles overland is a long way. Let's hope for the best. Hope to talk to you soon. I'd much rather talk horses than congestive heart failure, chicken pox, and gunshot wounds any day.
